Quiz Clothing – Head Office Fit Out Design Glasgow
Our office design in Glasgow for QUIZ Clothing is our latest interior design project in the Glasgow Area.
This was to include preparation and delivery of full interior design and construction detail package for the fit out of their head office.
Quiz’s current head office is based over two storeys of the old Bilsland Bakery Building on the North side of the Clyde and visible from the Kingston Bridge.
Quiz recently floated the company and has since expanded rapidly requiring the design of new space for an additional 80 staff.
It was decided that the Marketing, Social Media, E-Commerce, Customer Care and IT divisions would be relocated to the the 2nd floor of their old Bilsland Bakery building.
The 2nd Floor would undergo a full fit out to transform the space from an empty shell into a dynamic space consisting of open plan office workspace for upto 80 staff, cellular office spaces for the directors of each division, a mixture of meeting spaces from the new board room to flexible spaces with varying levels of privacy, furnishing and lighting to cater for any meeting type.
Meeting spaces behind glass partitioning cater for more private (or noisy) meetings for upto 10 people.
Semi private coves allow for ad hoc break out meetings with interactive screens for stat checks and presentations.
Our pods provide highly soundproofed spaces for one to two people to be able to work in a quiet space free from distraction.
The driving concept for the office design was the ‘runway/catwalk’. We wanted there to be a main processional route through the space from the entrance to the board room.
Visitors would take this processional route through the space along our runway at all times catching glimpses between the free standing office space and pods to see the expanse of activated and energised office space beyond and to feel the freedom of movement of people and ideas.
The runway could then be used as a catwalk for events such as fashion shows where bloggers and press would be invited to attend and give live feeds.
The big idea was to give the staff a feeling of being truly embedded in the fashion industry. To really feel like key players and like a global brand.
We want to give employees the feeling that they have really achieved their dream of a career in the fashion industry in an office which promotes the stimulation of ideas. The movement through space stimulating movement of thoughts and inspiration. The variety of spatial experience provoking fresh and innovative insight.
The interior design, furniture and finishes really had to capture the DNA of the brand. This doesn’t mean that they should look like the store. The office has a very different function but is has to feel related by picking up on the brand essence.
