Architect Project Overview

For this Allison Architects Arran project we were asked to design a new build lodge as an annex to a cottage on the West Coast of the Island.

Situated in a beautiful setting of Catacol near Lochranza, the Isle of Arran, we were tasked with the completion of designs for a new build lodge.

The Brief

This lodge was to be used as a holiday home and extra accommodation and the client wanted it to include bedrooms, a bathroom, living room, sleeping deck and mezzanine as well as double height space featuring a gallery.

The Design

This project used a simple construction method using a timber frame and external insulation and render to keep the thickness of the walls to a minimum. Our Glasgow architects worked with the client throughout, ensuring that the end result reflected their requirements perfectly. The end result was synonymous with a prestigious hotel suite.
