Our clients in Cambuslang were looking through the web for architects. Glasgow based Allison Architecture were then approached to deliver their dream extension.
The core reason for the extension to have a new kitchen which was insulated and warm on those winter mornings. The existing kitchen was a small lean-to extension circa 1950s with a concrete floor and little or no heating.
Allison Architects Glasgow were asked to create a design for a single-storey house extension to the family home in Cambuslang comprising of a large open plan kitchen / dining area with a new Utility Room.
The concept behind the design
was to create a large open plan space with large corner bifold windows to open out into the garden area. The New rear Entrance to the property will have function as a cloakroom area with plenty of room for coats and wellies and also the utility room opposite.
Our Glasgow architects then developed a materials palette with the clients. We have gone for a traditional slate roof to tie in with the existing house design a
long with wet dab render and glazed brick walls along with a wall of smooth faced red brick to the side of the Utility/Cloakroom area which will echo the traditional red brick to the garden walls and Victorian garage.
