As specialists in all things to do with architectural design, we are often asked by clients acquire necessary planning permissions and building warrant work for renovations which have already been carried out. In this particular case, we helped the client out of a rather precarious situation.

We always recommend to clients that it is best to obtain the necessary building warrants before work is carried out, but we often find clients have waited until after completion because of inaccurate advice they have received from other sources.

The Design

This house design project involved the addition of two large dormers and a rear extension to the property. The client had believed that this was a permitted development by planning and building control, but sadly, this wasn’t the case. However, using our skills and expertise, we worked with the client to help them find a solution to the problem and obtain the necessary approvals for the work.
