Our client has signed off the design proposals for their new house extension in Giffnock, South Glasgow.
We are proposing to create a side extension to the lower ground level of the house, the roof of which forming a sun terrace which would be accessed directly from the new increased size kitchen and existing formal dining room.
We are proposing red Dumfrieshire sandstone to tie in with the stone of the existing house. The issue of overlooking will be approached by the use of sandblasted glass screening, which will give translucence while minimising the visual impact of the build from the neighbouring gardens and windows.
Our next step is to submit for Planning Approval.
The clients at this Newton Mearns were looking for architects from Glasgow or the Newton Mearns area to design a unique two storey extension to their home to accomodate their growing family.
Working closely with the clients we have produced a design which gives the extra bedroom space, a new en-suite and dressing area to the master bedroom and a large new kitchen dining space with full height glazing opening up level access to the garden which can now become an external room.
The Planning Application has been submitted to East Renfrewshire Council this week and we hope for a quick turn around.
