Glasgow Townhouse Conversion Architects, Allison Architecture were asked by Douglas Dickson Developments Ltd to provide full architectural services for this townhouse conversion development project in the Kelvingrove Park area of Glasgow.
Our Glasgow architects were engaged to develop the optimum layouts for cost effectiveness and maximisation of profit.
We were then to prepare and submit for Listed Building Consent, Planning Permission for change of use and a Building Warrant for the townhouse conversion.
For this Glasgow townhouse conversion it was decided that the optimum subdivision would be to form two duplex apartments.
The lower duplex apartment was designed to be accessed from a main door at Lower ground Floor level. The three bedrooms and family bathroom would be located on this level. The main door would open into a generous hallway which would then lead to a new staircase to access the ground floor.
Our Glasgow Architects then designed the ground floor of the townhouse conversion to accommodate a large living room and kitchen diner.
The upper duplex would have exclusive use of the main front door and spectacular hallway and staircase. the main living room and kitchen diner are located on the first floor with extremely spacious bedrooms on the second floor.
A great deal of attention was required to bring this Category B Listed historic building back to a good state of repair and the high specification requirement.
Allison Architecture developed designs for an upper and lower duplex arrangements and liaised with Planning, Listed Buildings and Building Control to realise the proposals.
Our Architects in Glasgow have developed a specialism in townhouse conversion design having now successfully sought and obtained Listed Building Consent for ten townhouse conversions.
We have a very good understanding of what Planning and Listed Buildings officers in Glasgow will allow and we know how to design the apartment layouts to maximise profits for our clients.
